Depaul Trust helps young people across the UK who are homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged. We are passionate about what we do, working in the very heart of local communities.
We protect young people who become homeless by finding them a place to call their home. Each year we provide over 100,000 beds and we are open every day and night.
We prevent young people from becoming homeless by rebuilding family relationships.
We provide young people with the chance to fulfill their potential through education, volunteering, training and jobs.
Our Vision-
Depaul Trust's vision is to ensure that everyone has a place to call home and a stake in thier community.
Programmes and Activities-
Depaul Trust focuses on six main areas of work to help young people in need.
Accommodation and Resettlement
We have 18 different accommodation projects around England that provide a range of housing support for young people. The accommodation ranges from long to short term hostels and supported accommodation.
Depaul Nightstop UK
Depaul Trust run Depaul Nightspot UK, a network of 50 housing schemes across the U.K that provide safe emergency accommodation for young people in the homes of local volunteers.
Training and Employment
We operate a number of training schemes around England to help young people develop their skills and experience so that they can raise their employment prospects.
Work in the Community
We work in the heart of local communities, particularly those suffering from deprivation, to engage young people in a range of activities, sports and social groups to help inspire and motivate them to be positive members of the community.
Family Mediation
Through our Reconnect scheme, we offer a mediation service that aims to strengthen and re-build relationships between young people and their families. The project works with families at a number of different stages to encourage family cohesion so that young people can receive the support that they need.
Prison Work
We are based in a number of young offenders’ institutes across the U.K to help young people find housing on their release and help to decrease the risk of re-offending. We also run structured mentoring programmes that offer young offenders the support and guidance of a local volunteer during their time in the young offenders institute and after their release.
Volunteering and mentoring
We encourage the young people that we work with to take part in volunteering schemes that are either run by us, or take place in their local communities. The skills they learn will help set them up for further employment and develops their self-esteem and confidence. We also encourage volunteers or mentors to come and help us in all of our projects, where they will offer vital support, friendship and encouragement to young people searching for housing or employment.
